Attorney Stephanie Jo Shelton

About Attorney Shelton:

Attorney Stephanie Shelton earned her Bachelor of Arts in Social Welfare from the School of Social Work, University of Wisconsin – Madison, in 2013. Attorney Shelton immediately continued her education at Marquette University Law School, where she he earned her J.D. in 2016.

At Marquette, Attorney Shelton participated in the Benefits and Social Welfare Law Review as a student editor. She also spent time volunteering with the Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinic, and at the Milwaukee Justice Center where she assisted unrepresented parties with completing vital court documents for filings.

During her time at Marquette, Attorney Shelton focused the majority of her studies on the areas of elder and health law. Her academic mentor, the late Professor Allison Barnes, was a huge influence on Attorney Shelton’s career trajectory, making it very clear that how we provide for our elders in their later years is how best to measure the success of a society. In the fall of 2015, Attorney Shelton earned a prestigious CALI Award for earning the top grade in her Disability Law course, which focused on the federal regulations and their implementation surrounding the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Attorney Shelton is an avid reader. In her free time, she enjoys fictional novels for escapism, as well as the latest memoirs on the New York Times best sellers lists. She has a beautiful but temperamental bichon that she spoils silly. She lives in Milwaukee.
